    i have done 4 triathlons in that lake it isn't (wasn't) that badI like a good turkey sandwitch. And "Hey asshole, touch this bike and I'll appear from the bushes ready to club you with a two-by-four".

    I have also seen the Fire Department pouring in buckets and buckets of chemicals to balance the pH before each one of those four triathlons. It's not that bad, I agree. But it's not that good, either.

    The rumor or urban legend is that at the end of Soma in 2008, they found rather large 3 eyed fish at the end of the swim leg of the triathlon. 3 eyed fish or not, upstream (tempe marketplace) is a superfund 'brownfield' site (heavy methane/pcb contamination) which was widely disputed as the largest brownfield site in az.

    Yeah definitely a big difference with the chemicals. Also a big difference swimming as fast as you can vs. floating in it. I've jumped in while sailing when there wasn't a triathlon planned and I can assure you the taste is quite different.

    I remember them finding a dead body back in 2007 right before ironman.
