I am not sexist. But I don't understand why we cannot even post on the Ladies ride thread w/o getting the boot. Honestly if any of us came on their ride we wouldn't be trying to shit on their parade. If we did try and make it macho we would end up OTF, right? I can see where girls would be really intimidated by the PISS ride. Hell im intimidated by it. i dont think we have a snarky attitude towards people who try it either. I got dropped this week and didnt even hear anything about it when I showed up to the bar. Hannah has tried it a few times and I think we were generally encouraging to her when she did.

I guess what im getting at is: if the ride is established to be a no-drop social, drinking ride then thats what it will be. If you want it to be exclusive and just have your friends come, then don't post it where everyone can read it and know they cant come.

Just my dumb opinion though.Report my post!

Yeah for real, I am all for equal rights(don't let them know though), but it's a little rediculous that we can't even post on "their" thread on an open forum. Why not have a blacks only ride, because they can be intimidated by whites, or a moron only ride, because smart people ride too fast?

I agree with Leah in principal about the ladies ride. My experience with sexism stems from the co-op. Guys, me included, act different around women, and not always in a positive way and not always intentionally. I'm all for ladies night at the co-op / ladies night / whatever. If more girls learn to fix bikes and ride them, fantastic. The more cyclists the better.

What I'm saying is I don't think I'm sexist. And I try not to act snarky or condescending, but I have, and have seen other generally polite guys doing the same thing to women. Shit happens.

Now, you've got every right to say what you want on a message board. But acting like a dick when her point is that she thinks women need a welcoming, safe environment reinforces her point, not yours. Lay off, for fuck's sake.

^^^i'd agree with you justin. i dont find any of our rides dominating or intimidating. the PISS ride is a ride where if you get dropped, yes, you're on your own. but we've established it that way. its the same in any cycling community, theres drop rides and no drop rides. in fact, i can remember on a few occassions when hannah did the PISS ride, if she got dropped, we waited up for her. and ive been dropped on the PISS ride, no one makes fun of me or says shitty things. i feel that all rides should be open to all people. josiah and chris go on the ladies ride, ive never heard one shitty comment from any of those girls.

I have never felt the need to get away from "pussy"... but I guess i wouldn't know where the girls are coming from either, since most of the activities I have been involved with have been male dominated. I guess if I was surrounded by girls all the time.. . (pause to think about it)... well I dont think I would complain haha but I get where they're coming from I guess.
