    So Christina Peck of the Chicago Cuttin' Crew won this year's courier championship. She is the first woman to ever win the main race. Bad ass.

    I don't know much about this competition, but I can imagine that people will say that the field wasn't very strong or that she got lucky. However, she won it by a long shot and outraced 72 other riders. Does this mean that more and more fast/strong women are racing or is she one of a kind? What do you guys think?

    Anyone ever ride with her or the other Cuttin' Crew locals? You can't talk shit on this lady.

    its a courier race dude, its all about routes and stuff, not necessarily about strength. Now if it were a crazy road race or crit, thats another story. Still pretty cool that a girl won it tho! :)

    That's awesome that she won. Regardless of it being a courier race where routing is a factor, I'd imagine she's still a very strong rider to beat 72 people by a long shot.

    the NACCCs is a yearly multi-event deal, including a work simulation, skid comp, backwards circles comp, sprints, omnium, arm wrestling, some other shit and some polo on the side.

    they all knew the course ahead of time, and not only did she make like $40 more than the 2nd place guy, she also went through 5 manifests(the only person that did more than 4) and made 23 drops. the closest to that was 19 drops and only 2 dudes got that much.
    that girl covered a shit ton more ground than anyone else. you would be the one to be like "yeah it's cool she's a girl and all buuut.." sorry dude, no buts, she killed everyone else.

    Those Chicago folks are fucking brutal. Some of them came out here for some shit going on at the velodrome and a couple of alleycats and they beat the shit out of everyone. They were also pretty much the only people not hungover the entire time.PENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUSPENUS

    the strongest rider usually always wins. I don't see it being it any different in her case either.

    Its not that I don't think she did a good job- she definitely did, its just that I guess I really don't understand the type of racing so I'm not really sure what it means so I can't really tell if its impressive. A win in a competition is still a win though. But in terms of your post Christian, the strongest riders do not usually always win in a shitload of cases. I would contend that there is a lot of strategy involved that can make a ton more of a difference.

    Yeah, when I was at the velodrome outside of Chicago, there was a group of young people there in matching kits that were very team bearclaw-ish not only in looks of the kit, but of the riders. I think they said they were all courriers and they rode pretty tough.
