It's time again for AZFixed to show what we've got! Last year we dominated this ride, and I expect we can do the same this year. If you haven't already, please go register for this ride today HERE.

For those of you that don't know, the MS150 ride is a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to aid them in research for treatment and a cure for MS. It's a 150 mile ride spread over March 27th and 28th in beautiful Florence, AZ. This ride is huge and severely supported (seriously: sandwiches, powerade, energy bars, free beer, breakfast, ......). We had a great time last year riding as a team and I look forward to it this year.

In order to ride, you must register and raise at least $250 in donations by the time of the race (which is easier to do than you think). AZFixed raised over $10,000 for them last year as a team and it was a blast doing it. I'm sure others can attest to the fun we had.

So let's get people motivated and get cranking on the 2010 MS150 ride.

  1.
Also, this month from the 11th to the 15th it's $20.10 to register instead of the usual $75. If we register where can we find the AzFixed team?
  2.
That deal is Sweet!! That's cheaper than we registered for last year!

I'm in the process of setting up the AZFixed team. You can register now and then join the team when I get it going.this space intentionally left blank

I have a couple of friends who have signed up - not sure if they have a team affiliation or not. I'll be chipping in towards helping other people raise their $250 again, and will be riding out from Tempe to cheer everyone on as part of the BS-150 (last year that ended up being 145 miles, carrying touring gear). Hopefully my sign won't blow away in a freak dust devil accident again!KEEP TEMPE HOT! (and feed Trifle to the Streetkings)

I signed up yesterday with the understanding I could join team AZFixed when it was established. When I try and join the team (click on 'Join Team' on Team AZFixed page) I get this message:

"Our records indicate that you have already registered for this charitable event."

Last year was awesome! Hope AZFixed has a huge team this year again! For those who don't know, last year we won the Team Spirit Award and raised almost $11,000. It was the biggest non-corporate sponsored team they've ever had, I think we ended up having around 30 riders. You guys can do it again!

Here's the trophy we won last year!

Yeah you can ride just the Saturday ride. Or just the Sunday ride. You also don't have to complete the entire 150 miles. Check out the site for all the route options.Hot City Destroyers - come ride with us

I'm going to try and get my wife to do this. It'll be a good goal for us to obtain and our company will match the money we each raise.I have nicer cars at home!
  7.
Good Call!! Many companies offer a matching program for events like this.

Also, Totally get your wife involved!! My wife (Erica on here) is! Looks like Celeste is signed up also, so there will actually be more than ONE girl this year. The ride is not nearly as bad as it sounds. They offer multiple distances (down to 35 miles a day), and amazing rest stops every 10-12 miles. This is quite possibly the best supported race/ride you'll ever attend. Oh, and though encouraged as an AZFixed team member, you don't have to ride the whole thing fixed.this space intentionally left blank

Chris, was that you at Boulders the other night? (Can't remember if it was Mon, Tues, or Wed last week)

I spoke with her about it and she's good to go. I'll start up'ing her mileage this week to get her prepared. She'll be geared but I'll be fixed and I'll put both of us on the team tomorrow. I'll also be hanging back so girls, or anyone else for that fact, we'll be doing a slow to moderate pace (16ish) with me pulling if you're looking for someone to ride with.

A couple weeks and I'll try and get her out for Monday night to get her acquinted with everyone.I have nicer cars at home!
  8.
Yes, I think that was me at Boulders. Bring her out Thursdays to the ladies ride. easy pace, social ride to get to know people. sometimes they do 5-7 miles at 9mph, sometimes they do 20 miles at 13-16. No matter what, they pretty much always end up at a bar (usually Boulders). It's a good ride to get comfortable with bikes, riding on the streets, and the awesome people we have here on AZFixed.

I'll probably ride fixed at least one day. I did both last year, but I don't know how my knees will handle it this year.this space intentionally left blank

This is the last day of the $20.10 sigh up. After today it's the regular $75. It's worth it today to sign up even if you think you want to do it, $20 is easier to handle losing than $75.

I have two friends who don't ride fixed, but are doing the MS-150. I suggested that they join you guys because they aren't part of a team at the moment. My friend Chris is planning on doing all 150 miles, and his wife Dani will put on some miles, but isn't sure how many yet. I think it will be the longest ride that Chris has ever done, so if anyone is organizing training rides, post 'em up! Some of the ladies might remember Dani from a couple of the Ladies Rides. I hope they join!KEEP TEMPE HOT! (and feed Trifle to the Streetkings)

^thats awesome. Tell him to check the "ride now" thread or just keep checking the site for other rides posted. Weekend rides seem to be the longer rides he might want to be joining up with us for. They are long and ez pace. "LSD" long-slow-distanceFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!
  13.
Dan: Totally!! There's plenty of time and you'd be surprised how easy it is to raise $250 from all your friends and family (and friends of family!).

Socks: The more the merrier!! Why aren't you signing up??

Rides: I'll try to post the official MS training rides on here, but otherwise we'll be organizing some between now and then and will post accordingly.

Jesse: I haven't seen your name on the team roster yet.... you doing the same race Jeremy is?this space intentionally left blank
  14.
Dan, last year I joined a lot later than this and still raised the money. I also didn't think I could do it, but if you get a lot of people to donate just a little it's easy.
  15.
if anyone interested in doing this ride didnt get an AZFixed jersey:
    A) i still have some limited sizes
    B) We could do another group orderThe StreetKings are not to be trifled with.
