    Carbon has it's advantages! Steel and aluminum break too, they just don't leave quite the sight that broken carbon does. A bent frame isn't muck different than a frame that looks like it's been blown up- both are unrideable. I do agree that carbon isn't a good idea for mountainbikes and (obviously) fixed gears.

    Most of those(if not all) where caused by an impact...this scares me more and this is aluminum.

    That website is retarded. Carbon fails sometimes, just like aluminum and steel both do. Who cares. It doesn't mean you shouldn't ride carbon. Almost all of those pics are from some sort of crash. Carbon, for the win.

    I had that happen once, although the crank didn't fully tear. I stood on the pedal to get the bike moving across an intersection, and it ripped. I never had a satisfactory explanation - maybe pedal strike by the previous owner a long time previously (I hadn't pedal-stricken at all on it in the year I'd been riding it).KEEP TEMPE HOT!
