That's some pretty dialed scouting if they only got bikes over 4k.

I'm having a lot of trouble thinking and putting my thoughts in writing after reading that mtbr thead. I lost some brain.

My friends bike was stolen out of her house this weekend. (You would know her as jamiemichelle around here)

Keep a look out for it around town and let us know if you see it.

    Nishiki

When it left it had white bar tape and a different saddle. The red Nishiki is pretty easy to spot.

I just noticed he used his "wheel lock" on the outside of the rear stays thus making it so you can steal both wheels together.

Wait, theres no other lock on it is there... that bike is literally chillin like that?!

I was walking around ASU today doing some stuff and noticed a ridiculous amount of bikes "free locked" like this where the only thing locked is the wheels to the frame. Bikes just laying on the ground knocked over next to the rack locked with a cable going through the frame and rear wheel. My mind was blown.

I really want to make signs to put up around campus that point out that campus is a high bike theft area, and people should lock their bikes properly and notify the police of any suspicious activity. I'm pissed that ASU doesn't do anything more about it because the dumb people just encourage the thieves.

I also think part of the problem is that there actually isn't enough bike parking in certain parts of campus. Just locking the wheel to the frame works well enough for cheap bikes in Denmark and the Netherlands, but I don't think it's going to stop people from stealing bikes here.KEEP TEMPE HOT! ive never had an issue finding a spot to lock my bike. i think the issue is people believe that bike theft cant happen to them.

im not sure if this is the best place to post this, but i need some help if possible..

my centurion conversion was stolen late last year and i always keep an eye on craigslist to see if it pops up.. well earlier today i found this

    http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/1916479569.html

no doubt that its the same frame, same bars, pedals, even the chain, and i believe thats my eastern seat too. only thing that looks different is the wheelset.

anyways im just wondering if theres anything i can do to get it back? thanks

so i went to meet up with the seller and when i was almost there she calls. she says that if i dont plan on buying the bike on the spot to not even bother meeting up.. she was talking to someone else that was with her nd telling him/her that i didnt have money. it was pretty sketchy

i was thinking that before i originally posted.. the thing is that i would really love to have the bike back, because of sentimental value ( i even have the parts to get it back to original), but if i cant get it back in a legit way, then i want to make sure that no one ends up with stolen property and that the people who stole it don't make a profit off my stuff.

i know the bike isn't worth much, but it was one of my favorite bikes to build, because i actually put it all together myself.

anyways the only info i have on these people are that they either go to asu or work there nd they used the email azbluesea@gmail.com

maybe they stole it or maybe they actually paid for it, but either way its stolen property. its just so frustrating to get your only method of transportation taken away.
