    Yea, now that I think about it thats a little too fast. I want to see their gear ratios before I call fibs.

    And its nice to see a few of them in kits and all of them with helmets. Its common sense for both, but it usually takes someone "cool" to do it first. Learn hipsters.

    Whoever believes this is an idiot. 25 miles= 40k TT. Thats 50 minutes at 30 mph or 3 minutes slower than the U.S. road TT record and the same speed that many pros do a 40k TT at. This would mean these fixie 'racer's are better than 99% of the domestic pro peloton. I don't care if you ride a fixed gear, but at least don't say illogical shit that could not in any way be true. Alleycat racing is fun, but why try and glorify it and the riders as being better than pros when its obvious that even 25mph is probably pushing it. Shit, most cat 3 riders couldn't do that on a bike with much higher gearing.

    Stating the obvious here but Cat 2 and pro are two very very different levels(both men and women ;)) You won't see me calling myself one unless it ever happens(at my age, not very likely.)

    I think they just worded it misleadingly. "30 miles an hour was the pace for the entire route and it did not let up." To me this must mean they saw 30+ at many times during their race, but was not the actual average speed from a computer. Remember that in a TT you're not drafting other riders, whereas in this race they were. It's not uncommon to have a 30mph average in a category 2 crit.

    I think it looks like a lot of fun though. If I hadn't just gone down at 30+ mph so recently I'd like to think I would try this here(if i ever built a fixed bike) haha
